April 2nd - Entrance Ceremony
In the morning, before the real ceremony started, there was a small mess in our university chapel, so I also took part there. Then the real ceremony started and I was sitting among all the japanese students, so I caused some kind of confusion, since all the other non-asian people (short term exchange students) gathered in a group.
April 4th - Happy Easter!
Since I had a lot of spare time, I made a cheese cake and maccha and kinako cookies.
April 5th - 7th - First days at University
The Cherry blossoms were in full bloom, but it was raining all the time, so no possibility to enjoy them...
The first days, we had an orientation, where I also met my old teachers again.
During that period, the clubs and circles where actively trying to get new members, by handing over flyers to the new students. During the break of my orientation I went to the tea house, since I didn't find the people from the tea ceremony club outside. Inside the teahouse, there really were students and I could join the club. Actually, it seems to be quite a popular club for foreign students. And I also re-joined the kendo-club.
April 8th - Kendo hanami
Since the weather wasn't that good, we did our hanami (picknick under cherry blossoms) in the park on the backside of the University, having the possibility to flee into the building, if it would rain. But we were lucky and could enjoy our picknick outside (eventhough it was really cold). Afterwards, we went to karaoke.
April 9th - Welcome party for foreign students
Food party at International center with a lot of meat! >.< And one more thing, I am the only non-chinese long-term exchange student this year. Since there were so many chinese-students, they performed the traditional lion-dance for the chinese new year, which was really funny to watch.
